Come back you, not new!

Retreats are often sold to you as an idea of coming back new, but how about just coming back you. That I could revolutionise your life after just one weekend would be great, right? But lets be realistic, things take time, and although we are often impatient (I know I am), there is a lot of beauty in the time things take.

Process not progress

Think about this weekend as the beginning, maybe the middle, or simply just another part of your process. Come and have a weekend away to explore you and your needs, to take time to listen to the body and reconnect. You will have the space to be with others should you want, steal away to your room alone, walk, visit the waterfalls, or just lie in the hammock in the garden.

Come join us!

Eat, do yoga and get to know more about what your body has been telling you! (other than maybe some more food before the next yoga class)

The location

Northern Spain is not southern Spain. It may mean less heat, yes, but it also means mountains, coast and, importantly, it means green! For me, this is crucial. It may have it’s own long history of what it is and isn’t, but let’s start and finish with the beauty. Come and join us in a beautifully renovated farmhouse with a huge garden just an hours drive from Bilbao. With walks from the front door, waterfalls a short drive away and many other local treats, this house offers an easy, relaxed weekend. Flop out out of bed and up to the studio, enjoy coffee in the garden and get ready to slow down!

Waterfalls near by - tempting right?

The yoga

Asana is the main focus in our lives right now. The movement and postures are a big part of my practise, but I want to explore it from a different angle. Let’s allow ourselves time to get to know the body, to understand those habits we hold, ones we have possibly held for a long time, and see if we can identify and work with them. Let’s explore our areas of tension by slowing down, focusing on breath work and down time. Shavasana, nidra, you name it, we can accept what we put our body through and see how we can support it, building strength, yes, but also softening and letting go.

Classes will be either an hour or an hour and a half. In the morning we’ll focus on building energy and in the afternoon, slowing down. There’ll also be a workshop looking at deep relaxation and movement, focusing on the fascia that runs through and around our whole body.

Early evening savasana - big cosy vibes.

The food

Treats galore, and more, the food is always one of the best bits for me. A DIY breakfast followed by lunch and dinner, with plenty to snack on in between, should you so wish. With inspiration from around the world, previous menus have included Sicilian, Basque, Indian and Japanese dishes, but there’s no reason why a British home comfort couldn’t make it into the mix. All dietary requirements will be catered for.

The door is always open, come in!

Can't wait to see you there, what excuse do you have!!
